My name is Andrew Raymond. I am a plastic surgeon providing cosmetic and reconstructive services in Newcastle, NSW. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and am qualified to the highest Australian and international standards. I specialise in cosmetic procedures of the face and breast, body contouring and breast reconstruction. I also treat all forms of skin cancer, hand injuries and ailments, and am pleased to provide a wide range of reconstructive services.
I obtained my medical degree, with honours, from the University of NSW in 2009. After spending my first years as a doctor in Sydney I went on to complete specialist training in South Australia. I then commenced work at both the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, contributing to services in breast and body plastic surgery, hand surgery, trauma reconstruction and skin cancer.
I was born and raised in Newcastle, and ever since leaving for medical school I hoped to one day return to provide a service to my community. Almost 20 years later I am excited to be back, offering an international standard of plastic surgery.
My primary area of interest is plastic surgery of the breast and face. This includes facial cosmetic surgery, breast augmentations, lifts and reductions, as well as reconstruction after cancer. In late 2021 I travelled to Canada to undertake further subspecialist training. Under the direction of Dr Brian Peterson, one of North America’s most respected plastic surgeons, I completed a University of British Columbia Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery and Comprehensive Breast Surgery. During this time I was also privileged to visit Dr Elizabeth Hall-Findlay, famed for her pioneering work in short-scar breast procedures. While many surgeons claim to offer the Hall-Findlay vertical breast lift techniques, few have learned from Dr. Hall-Findlay herself.

Philosophy
I place significant value on constantly learning and bettering myself in order to provide ever-improving care to my patients. By providing both cosmetic and reconstructive services I am able to maintain a broader range of surgical skills and techniques, which compliment one another. Across both of these domains, I enjoy working with patients to understand their expectations and develop a personalised solution, delivered in the safest possible way.
Education
In addition to private consulting and operating, I offer public services at the John Hunter Hospital, Belmont Hospital and Calvary Mater Newcastle. Between these locations I am pleased to offer a range of services including breast reconstruction, body contouring, skin cancer removal and reconstruction, microsurgical procedures and management of a variety of complex wounds and injuries.
